Get Your Hair Holiday Season Ready With These Tips
As the year’s biggest party season rolls around, get your hair holiday-ready right though the end of the year and into the new one with these easy tips.

The months of December and January present some of the biggest challenges in hair care. Not only are these some of the coldest and driest months of the year, but you are also expected to look your stylish best for the many events that you will be expected to attend over the holidays. Office parties, cozy get-togethers with friends, large family Christmas dinners, glamorous New Years’ bashes – you will be expected to make an appearance at all of these, perfectly coiffed.

The winter season is when your hair needs extra hydration. The biting cold New York air can leave your tresses stripped of moisture, brittle and prone to dry ends –all of which are absolutely anathema to a perfect party hair-do. Hydration and moisturizing are key.

Ensure that your hair is in prime condition for styling this season by investing in a thorough moisturizing and nourishing regimen. A weekly deep-nourishing hair masque will help add much needed hydration and moisture to your hair this season, and ensure that it has all the bounce and shine necessary for you to pull off a great party do. Call Hairsay, at either our Garden City Park or Port Washington locations, for a hair spa appointment to nourish your locks.

Use smart head wear to keep your hair as protected from the dry air as possible. Use woolen caps and hats to protect hair.

Avoid over-shampooing your hair. Too much shampoo can strip hair during winter. Get a good hydrating shampoo. Ask us at our location near Nassau Community College for recommendations.

Never forget to condition your hair. Ideally, you should be using a conditioner every time you shampoo your hair. Learn how to condition hair correctly. Make sure hair is damp, but not dripping wet. Use just the right amount of conditioner to coat the hair from the middle to the tips. Avoid applying too much conditioner on your scalp. It drags hair down, making it look limp and lifeless. Leave conditioner on for a minute, and rinse off.

If you plan on using styling and straightening products before a party, always use a heat protector. These must be applied from the middle to the tips of your hair after applying your straightening products.

Experiment with and perfect your party look before the big day! Christmas is when you can truly let loose and play with your style. People generally feel more enthusiastic and brave enough to try newer and more daring hair styles during the festive season. View our services and see if you’re ready to try something new!

Hair accessories are a great way to get a party-ready look with minimum fuss. Buy your accessories in advance, and try out new looks before your party. Get in touch with Hairsay Salon in Nassau County for more ideas on how to do your hair this party season!

These tips will make sure that your hair is bouncy and healthy enough to adapt to all the many styles you will be trying out these holidays!
